Paleolitic societies were the first human societies. It was small 20 to 50 people. It has small rate of population growth. The relationship between men and women was equal, no one has the upper hand, males role as hunter killing large animals. The main economy was gathering and hunting. 

Different kinds of societies emerged out of the agricultural revolution:
